Volunteer Opportunities

Our volunteers define dedication. Over 1,400 people volunteer in various Interfaith Coalition programs. Here are some of the opportunities available for you. Click on each volunteer opportunity name below for more information.

Sharing Our Homes

Turn@Homes: deep cleaning in between families in our ten homes; outdoor work including weeding, spreading bark, painting and working with Warren on maintenance and repairs.

Plateful of Love: Volunteers who create meals for families in our ten homes on an ongoing basis. (individuals and groups)

Filling Their Needs: Volunteers who aid families in our homes by purchasing items that they need.

Food And Clothing Programs

Coffee and Sandwiches Together (CAST): Volunteers who make, transport, and serve food and drinks to downtown Bellingham guests at the Arch of Healing and Restoration.

Winter Coat Drive: Volunteers who work with staff to receive, sort and provide coats to the community at the Bellingham Food Bank and other Whatcom County distribution sites. Upcoming Coat Drive is in October 2024!

Project Warm Up: Volunteers who like to knit and those who just like to donate their knitting.

Holiday Joy: Help families 'shop' at a free store of donated toys for their children, or sign up to donate toys or gift cards to the program!

Uplift

UpLift: Volunteers who help set-up and break down the pop-up resource events, help usher attendees, etc.

Plateful of Love: Volunteers who provide meals to a specific Uplift pop-up section of our community (groups) Ferndale is first pilot in November!

Gardening for Kindness: Volunteers who lead their faith communities in gardening to grow food and flowers for our Community Cupboard and Sharing Our Homes residents.

Community Cupboard: Volunteers who obtain a variety of foods (fresh, boxed, canned, etc.) to supplement the food banks across the County.

Congregational Liaison: Represent the voice of your faith community by participating in bi-annual meetings
