Our community partners help us build a strong community where every person has a home and the opportunity to live with dignity and value.

Interfaith Coalition is a Partner Agency with United Way of Whatcom County. Community change requires the strengths and strategies of different organizations and United Way of Whatcom County helps provide funding and connections to make that happen.

Since we founded Interfaith Community Health Center, now Unity Care NW, in 1981, we have partnered with the medical center in significant ways, including financial and volunteer support. Unity Care NW, an independent organization serving over 16,000 Whatcom County residents each year, delivers affordable medical, dental, behavioral health and pharmacy services.

Many families in receiving Interfaith services have access to parent skills-building programs through Parenting Academy at no cost. Parenting Academy supports families in positive parenting and tackling issues of children’s anxieties, teaching responsibility, and more. Families are set up with a one-on-one parenting consultation to connect with a parenting coach. The coaches provide non-judgmental, confidential support to help parents navigate their children's learning, talk with teachers to share their needs, and more.

People wishing to help families transitioning out of homelessness, or to help furnish our transitional housing, can donate their gently-used furniture to Habitat for Humanity in Whatcom County's store at 1825 Cornwall Ave, Bellingham. When donating items, let them know your donation is for Interfaith Coalition credit. That eliminates our need to store furniture until it is needed, and also provides Habitat for Humanity with donations of quality goods which benefit their organization and mission.

PeaceHealth is a member of Interfaith Coalition and active partner that participates in our Winter Coat Drive, Holiday Gift Program, Hope Auction, and other Interfaith programs.

Financial literacy is one of the most important life skills one can attain. The Whatcom Dream provides financial skills classes and coaching to Interfaith families to help them learn about and understand strategies that will help them attain stability as they begin their transition out of homelessness or other economic challenges.

The Fresh Start ministry of First Congregational Church assists Interfaith Coalition by supplying household goods to Interfaith housing units and to Interfaith housing families when they transition into their own permanent housing. Fresh Start also welcomes donations of new or gently-used household goods, such as linens, dishes, small appliances, etc.
